Chandgad Forest Range was Established in 1975. It includes a total of 70 villages, of which 22 villages have forest areas. The total forest area of the Chandgad Forest Range is 13846.44 hectares, and it has been divided into three orest rounds. Chandgad Taluka has a total Geographical area of 95,221 hectares and the Chandgad Forest Range has a total forest area of 13846.44 hectares. Of this, 11593.17 hectares is reserved forest and 2253.27 hectares is unclassified forest. This constitutes 14.54% of the total geographical area. The management of the forest area in the Chandgad Forest Range is being carried out according to the working plan prepared by Mr. Vikas Gupta, Mr. Nitin Kakodkar, and Mr. Devendra Kumar for the period 2008-2009 to 2017-2018.
